I've just noticed that next to my avatar it says that I'm a real regular member. I'm glad that I'm real, I was beginning to wonder.

UPDATE » New, simpler method to embed a YouTube video
To make the embedding of YouTube videos a bit easier I have added a youtube tag.
Now, it makes embedding a video much easier though there is still a little bit of something that you need to watch out for :

If the URL of the video you're wanting to include is of the format :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdIqbv7SPo
then there is no problem at all. Just put it between the youtube tags and it will embed the video for you.

If however the URL is of a different format, for example :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ ... re=related
then you will have to cut out the end bit to make it into the correct format.
So the above URL would be changed to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go and then put inbetween youtube tags.

This method will embed the videos at 480x320. If you want them to be a different size then you will have to embed them using the old method.

Anyway, hope that makes things easier for people.

Example :
Code:
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdIqbv7SPo[/youtube]

Old guide contained within spoilers.
Old method is still useful if embedding videos at a size other than 480x320.
Also it could be useful for embedding videos from another video site, since it shouldn't be too difficult to work out how to get what you need for another site from it.

Spoiler: show
Here is a simple step by step guide that anyone can follow, but if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask. Just post them in the thread and someone will help you out.

Step 1 :
Go to the youtube video you want to embed and click the share button below the video. Then click embed.

Step 2 :
Select the size you want and then Copy the code this gives you that looks like this :
Code:
<iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/H7n8PtIfOCg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Step 3 :
Take the values of width and height and put flash tags with those values, like this :
Code:
[flash=640,480][/flash]

Step 4 :
Take the url (or src) from the code (in this example it would be http://www.youtube.com/embed/H7n8PtIfOCg
now change the "embed" to "v" to give you http://www.youtube.com/v/H7n8PtIfOCg

Step 5 :
Put this edited url inbetween the flash tags like this :
Code:
[flash=640,480]http://www.youtube.com/v/H7n8PtIfOCg[/flash]

And the result is thus :

Simple.

I've been making money online for 5 years now. Im on here 24/7 always trying to build my income by looking for more ways to make at MalfordofLondon.CO.UK money. The internet is like my home, and if there were "jobs" in my backyard, I would know about it.
